MU News | Establishment Ceremony of New Divisions was Held

With the arrival of autumn, MU Group continues to make great strides. In August, the company set a new record by surpassing $2 billion in monthly exports. On September 1, the establishment ceremony of the new divisions was held in the training room on the fifth floor of Binjiang Workspace. MU Group President Tom Tang, along with senior leaders Jeff Luo, Amenda Weng, Eric Zhuang, Sam Zhu, and Amanda Chen, as well as middle and senior managers of operations team and colleagues from the new divisions, gathered to celebrate the promising growth of these new divisions.

With golden scissors in hand, President Tom Tang and the division heads cut the red ribbon, symbolizing the official launch of the Operation Support Business Group, the Logistics Division, and the Cross-Border E-Commerce Development Division, marking the beginning of a new journey.

After the ceremony, representatives from the new divisions took turns to speak.

Ruby Jiang, Manager of the Cross-Border E-Commerce Development Division, reviewed the significant achievements of the company’s cross-border business, which has now reached a monthly GMV of nearly $10 million. The department is rapidly building an efficient, responsive service platform to support business growth in locations like Ningbo, Yiwu, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Guangzhou, and Vietnam. Looking ahead, Ruby emphasized the need to focus on digital empowerment, database infrastructure, full-chain digital capabilities, and compliance to accelerate strategic partnerships with overseas warehouses and logistics partners, ultimately optimizing resource allocation.

Claire Lee, Director of the Logistics Division, reflected on the transformation from a “documentation” department to a full-fledged “logistics” division. This shift not only supports the company’s international expansion but also serves as an innovative approach to customer development. From a single document service to the construction of a global logistics system, Logistics Division needs to continue to work hard in seven aspects: talent construction, deepening communication, optimizing processes, integrating resources, standardizing mechanisms, data support, and developing cross-border forces.

Sam Zhu shared his thoughts on various forms of effort: short-term and long-term, individual and collective, physical and mental. He highlighted the company’s principle of “contribution before reward” and the importance of embracing wolf-like spirit. We advocate “responsibility determines treatment, contribution determines remuneration”. As company grows, the challenge of supporting a large organization and empowering different divisions looms large. Digital systems, informatization, AI applications, and systems, standards, and processes are just tools, and the most important thing is a clear understanding and thinking of our own work and positioning!

President Tom Tang concluded the event by outlining the company’s expectations and strategic vision for the new divisions, and talked about their understanding and thinking of cross-border e-commerce, logistics system and operation support work. He emphasized that the specialization within the cross-border e-commerce team would enhance efficiency and reduce costs, driving the business towards higher goals. While cross-border e-commerce may be entering a competitive phase, there remain untapped opportunities. MU Group has the time to learn from industry benchmarks and avoid mistakes.

Tom also stressed that with logistics costs becoming an increasingly important factor, competitive pricing and efficient delivery services will be essential to business growth. Drawing on the experiences of successful companies, the possibility of establishing overseas warehouses and logistics networks could provide added value to clients. Tang envisions that once logistics costs drop to a critical point, e-commerce will ultimately outcompete traditional retail, with western retail markets repeating the transformation already seen in China. MU Group aims to become the first Chinese all-category supply chain management enterprise going global, providing global customers with Chinese products and services of extreme cost performance. In this process, Logistics Division will play a vital role in this mission.

Finally, the transition from the Operations Support Division to the Operations Support Business Group marks an important structural upgrade. In the future, the company anticipates the emergence of numerous general manager and director manager from its ranks. In a rapidly growing company, everything is possible! The mini-multinational company is embarking on a new chapter, and MU Group will accelerate its talent development to meet the challenges of globalization.

After the ceremony, company leaders and new division colleagues took group photos to commemorate this milestone moment.
